Giving back to the community of Fernie is an important aspect of what Claris Media is all about. Raising families in this mountain town, starting a small business, being supported by and supporting various organizations has led Krista and Vanessa to know that giving back is essential to sucess, both in business and personally.

Personally, Krista and Vanessa have both served or are currently serving on various organizations such as the Fernie Chamber of Commerce, the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation, the Fernie Trails Alliance, the Fernie and District Historical Society and the Fernie and District Arts Council. They also helped found the Wednesday Night Concert Series, alongside numerous community events including Fernie Tears & Gears Mountain Duathlon and the Dumpster Art Project.

Professionally, they are proud to support many small businesses and non-profit organizations.

They’ve supported the Emily Brydon Youth Foundation with event promotion, marketing material, web design, and social media since its inception, and continue to play a role in this organizations growth and development.

The Fernie Heritage Library is on of Fernie’s community organizations who the team has sponsored through free ad space in the Fernie Fix, specifically for the Booked! Fernie Writers’ Series, Bibbibty Bobbity Boo and Splish Splash Sploosh events.

The Fernie Women’s Centre approached Claris Media with an interest to re-brand and create a website, which was executed and well-received. Through the Fernie Fix, the duo is able to continue to support them with event promotion, discounted ads and featured material.

Over the past ten years, Claris Media has provided support to Fernie Tears & Gears, a non-profit organization which organizes a mountain duathlon in town, with logos, map development, advertising in the guide and monthly magazine, and event promotion.

When the MAST program at the College of the Rockies – Fernie Campus wanted to start the Fernie Mountain Film Festival, Claris Media teamed with them to help get it off the ground, working on creative development such as logo and marketing material free of charge, and continuing to promote the event through the Fernie Fix each winter.

Lovers of all things music, Krista and Vanessa were on board when Wapiti – Fernie’s Music Festival, approached them to sponsor the development of their initial logo and marketing material. The Fernie Fix has since been on board as a sponsor of this amazing yearly event.

In support of Griz Days, Claris Media designs the magazine free of charge for this winter festival each year as a sponsor.

Alongside these examples, Claris Media enjoys supporting non profit organizations with advertising discounts and event promotion through social media channels and their weekly e-newsletter.
